Hey there. I'm Julie Ann.
A little bit about me...
I've been writing and drawing ever since I could hold a crayon.
My passion is any form of art. Everything I do and feel depends on my mood. I have an artistic temperament, meaning I'm not always, consistently inspired make art. I have what I call "dry seasons" where I am not motivated to make art or write new poems. That is a time for input. It's a time for reading rather than writing, re-blogging gorgeous art on Tumblr rather than making it. When my brain has soaked up enough inspiration and is completely saturated, it becomes a rain cloud, the catalyst of my "rainy seasons". These are periods of productiveness and output. I create, create, create. Either "season" can last anywhere from a few hours to over 7 months. It's crazy. I'm a generally a pretty friendly person. I live up to my name, which literally means "youthful and changeable". My sign is cancer. I visited Costa Rica last June and turned 18 there, and I fell in love with it. My favorite color isn't actually a color (it's nearly any shade of gray). I adore sleeping in very late, daydreaming, 72 degree weather, having philosophical discussions, everything about autumn, analyzing the heck out of my favorite novels, writing poetry at 2am, and making lists (if you couldn't tell). I also love making friends, swing dancing, deep conversations, going on crazy adventures at ungodly hours with close friends, reading books that take me to different worlds, good music, coffee house atmospheres, rain droplets and snowflakes and stars and other remarkable details of our world that too often go unappreciated, Batman, Tumblr, chocolate, CATS, and apparently insanely long sentences. In the fall of 2015, I plan to attend Kendall College of Art and Design and major in Art Education. I am very happy with this decision. |
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do you do commissioned pieces?
A: No, I don't. I used to, but those interfered with my school work and they stress me out. I'm not great with deadlines, and I don't feel comfortable putting a price on my work (hence majoring in art education rather than trying to make it as an artist). Also, typically it is friends and family members who request commissioned pieces, and I also don't feel comfortable charging them money for it. I don't like making promises that I don't know if I can keep, so I generally just say no to commissioned pieces, or requests all together. If I ever have the time and the drive for it, I may surprise someone someday. But no promises. Q: Can I use your drawing for a tattoo/ could you design me a tattoo? A: Well, sure. It's your body. As long as you ask me first, all the power to ya. It's quite a high compliment for someone to want your work inked permanently on their skin. Or at least for several months with henna. |
Q: What are your future plans? Are you going into art?
A: Yes, I am. I hope to attend Kendall in the fall and major in Art Education. I look forward to being an art teacher and a crazy cat lady someday.
